Till his last moment, Godard remained passionate about transforming his synopses into aesthetics of cinema. As a form of realising his longstanding ambition of adapting Charles Plisnier’s 1937 novel Faux passeports , he created a ‘trailer’ for the film never existed. Made with collage photographs and his meditative reflections, this short film remains as the ultimate gesture of cinema, accompanied by his own statement: ‘No longer trusting the billions of diktats of the alphabet to give back their freedom to the incessant metamorphoses and metaphors of a true language by returning to the places of past shootings, while taking into account the present stories.’ Screening with Godard by Godard.
